Conductors
Kent Tritle, conductor

Kent Tritle, hailed as “the brightest star of New York’s choral music world,” presently serves as the Music Director of three major organizations. He founded and presides over the Sacred Music in a Sacred Space series. He begins his sixth season heading the Oratorio Society of New York, a 200-voice volunteer chorus, and his fourth with Musica Sacra, the longest continuously performing professional chorus in New York.

In addition to his numerous performances of familiar and rarely-heard choral masterpieces, he appears regularly as an organist around the world and serves as organist of the New York Philharmonic and the American Symphony Orchestra.

He also serves as Director of Choral Activities at the Manhattan School of Music and on the graduate faculty of the Juilliard School, from which he received his undergradulate and graduate degrees. He led a performance of Handel’s Solomon at the 2008 Berkshire Choral Festival in 2008 and returns in 2011 for Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610.
